A timepiece is only as good as it is precise. That’s why Nautilus is powered by a SEIKO quartz movement. With over 130 years of timekeeping heritage, SEIKO movements are among the most precise and reliable in the industry. At the heart of each movement is a laser-cut quartz crystal, which is factory-tuned to oscillate at precisely 32,768 cycles per second. These oscillations generate an electromagnetic pulse, which drives the movement of the hands. To ensure Nautilus is as accurate as possible, we rigorously test and certify each movement using motion and acoustic-sensing instruments.

Watch-level craftsmanship
Each Nautilus core begins as an aluminum extrusion, which is cut to size and machined to final dimensions on a computer-controlled milling machine. To protect against surface corrosion, a thin layer of aluminum oxide is deposited onto the surface through anodization, a process used on everything from aerospace parts to iPhones.

FSC-certified walnut
Sustainably harvested from Canada and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, the walnut used in Nautilus is sanded and polished before receiving a protective oil-and-varnish finish, resulting in a finished product that's beautiful in a way synthetic materials can't replicate.
Carbon tracing template: A more precise way to install Nautilus.
Precise alignment is critical during installation, which is why we've designed a proprietary carbon tracing template to help. The tracing template is backed with a carbon film and indicates the area to be traced with a pen, which transfers critical alignment marks onto the wall. Using these alignment marks to guide the placement of the numerals and the core, installing Nautilus is simple and anyone can do it perfectly in 15 minutes or less.
